Welcome to Juristic!

We are very happy to welcome you to the platform and that your team has decided to use Juristic to increase productivity, billables - or simply making your life easier.

In the rapidly evolving legal landscape, staying ahead of the curve is essential for lawyers to effectively manage their caseloads, collaborate with clients, and enhance overall productivity. Using technology platforms, like Juristic, will be a game changer - especially considering the role of technology and generative AI.

In this article, we'll explore the fundamentals of getting started with Juristic:

Learn how to

Create your first Group or Case
Create your first timeline or whiteboard
Share with your coworkers or clients

1. Create your first Group or Case

Sometimes it can seem a little daunting to get started in a new platform but thankfully, we have built Juristic after principles you know from your case management system. As such, everything should be fairly intuitive.

Juristic saves timelines, whiteboards and tasks inside case folders ("Cases") - just like you are used to! However, instead of having client folders, Juristic saves cases inside top level folders ("Groups"). To read more about this, click here:
Dashboard, Groups and Cases

To create your first Case, you first need a Group to put your cases in, similar to how you need a client to put cases under in your case management system. If you already have a Group to put the Case in, you may skip the next step.

On the dashboard "Overview" (the top button in the left menu), you can see a list of recent activity as well as a list of either Groups and Cases. Click "Groups" in the pill menu and then "Create new" in the top right corner of the Group overview. Enter a name and click Save. You can also write a description, but you do not have to.

To create a new Case, go inside the Group you want to put your Case into.

Then click "Create new" in the top right corner of the Case overview. Enter a name and click Save. You can also write a description, but you do not have to.

You are now ready to create a timeline or whiteboard!

2. Create your first timeline or whiteboard

Inside your Case, you can now see all timelines, whiteboards and tasks in one place. There's no need to switch between tools, which is part of what makes Juristic unique.

Simply click "Create new" inside either Whiteboards or Timelines to create a whiteboard or a timeline. Enter a name and click Save. You can also write a description, but you do not have to.

They will now be accessible from your dashboard via their Group and/or Case - or if they are recent, you can find them in the overview of recent activities.

3. Share with your coworkers or clients

To share you work with coworkers or clients, you have two different options - depending on what you want to do.

When you are inside a timeline or a whiteboard, there's a "Share"-button in the top right corner.

When you click this button, it will give you two different options: (1) to share internally; or (2) to share externally.

Sharing internally allows you to share the timeline or whiteboard with a user from your own organisation. You will get the option to select a pre-existing user from the input field and write them a personal message. If this user does not already have access to the Case, they will automatically be added as a member to the Case. They will receive an email with a link and your message.

Sharing externally allows you to share a specific timeline or whiteboard with an external user, i.e. a user that does not have a Juristic license. This could for example be clients, opposing parties, or similar. When you share something with an external user, they will receive a secure link to a client portal as well as a text with a MFA authentication code. They will be met with a registration process and when done, they will have a Juristic guest user inside the client portal.

Both options allow for fast and flexible ways to share your work with the relevant stakeholders!
